A huge thank you to everyone that performed in and attended our Standing with Ukraine Charity Concert on September 4! Collectively, we raised $9000 to donate to UNICEF’s Ukraine Emergency Appeal. These funds will help UNICEF deliver life-saving supplies to children and families in Ukraine and help to establish safe spaces to provide crucial support to families on the move.
We performed a beautiful new choir piece, Great Trees, by Oliver Caplan, tango arrangements, a new Concerto Grosso by our resident composer Pavle Cajic, and Saint-Saens’s Requiem to a full Great Hall at the University of Sydney. The concert ended with the Ukrainian National Anthem, offering our solidarity to everyone suffering from this horrendous war.
Thank you to our conductors Taesoo Kim and Pavle Cajic for leading the music for the evening. We are so grateful to all our audience for supporting the cause and to those that contributed extra donations at the end, and above all to our beautiful performers who donated their time and skills.
